This was my first same-sex marriage. I have known the couple for 14 years. It was an honor to do this work for them. Though they were married about a decade earlier, the US Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex unions came down on the 20th anniversary of their first date. The couple saw it as a sign that they "needed to make it legal" - in their own words :)
This shoot was inspired by Dutch Master’s floral still life paintings. It was featured on Sisters in Law and Rochester Magazine. The stunning photos were taken by Amy Mae Photos. It took place at Semple Mansion, an historic Beaux Arts residence in Minneapolis, MN. The floral designs were created by Flora & Ephemera.
