The design philosophy at Flora & Ephemera is grounded in the observation of the natural world: the interplay of flowers and foliage in gardens and the wild; the gentle curve of a stem; the interaction of color, form and texture in a field of wild flowers. John arranges flowers in a manner that maintains and respects their natural form, such as how they may appear in their native setting.
Texture, color and movement are hallmarks of John's work. He places an emphasis on seasonal flowers, greenery, berries and branches – even fruits and vegetables. His style, inspired by nature, is lush, elegantly wild, organic in form, and utterly romantic.
